Young scientists visit 'Berg

An enthusiastic group of Tiffin Middle School students, accompanied by their teacher, Jennifer Bupp, '05, got a hands-on lesson in various science disciplines Thursday during the annual Young Scientist Day. Guided by Heidelberg faculty members Dr. Amy Berger, Dr. Pam Faber, Dr. Nate Beres, and National Center for Water Quality Research scientists Ellen Ewing and Jake Boehler, the students rotated between demonstrations in geology, chemistry, water quality and anatomy and physiology. Topics included Surface and Groundwater Systems, Bones, Eyeballs and Other Body Parts, Exploring a Watershed and Chemistry in Action. 'Berg science students also assisted in the demonstrations. Jake coordinated the event this year.
