Athletic Training with the assist
For the 10th year in a row, the Athletic Training program took a group of students to volunteer as medical volunteers at the Chicago Marathon, one of the largest marathons in the world. The 44,000 runners who crossed the finish line in 75-degree weather kept the medical team very busy this year and provided a lot of great experience dealing with heat illnesses and a variety of other ailments.
Also on this trip, the students were able to tour Notre Dame University's Athletic Training Department and see how a larger university its program.
Chicago Marathon volunteers from Heidelberg included (front, L-R) Justine Mitchell, Megan Brugnone and Alyx Perram and (back, L-R) Lauren Belliveau, Olivia Hipp, Aaron Hellman, Madison Alfrey, Ashley Parsell, Kaitlin Keys, Jena Suffel and Morgan Bingham.
