PURSUITS: Week of April 30, 2018

Barb Gabel, Kurt Huenemann, Mary Milazzo, Tobey Robison, Cindy Suter and Kelly Warnke attended the Ellucian Live conference in San Diego in early April. The conference focused on Heidelberg's central systems, DegreeWorks and Banner, and had over 8,000 attendees from colleges and universities in 43 countries. Technology drives our day-to-day operations and by attending this conference, the various offices represented saw upcoming releases/enhancements, discussed processes and troubleshooting with colleagues and, possibly most importantly, evaluated and synthesized information shared at sessions by their peers as well as the product owners.

While Banner forms are used only by certain individuals on our campus, all students, faculty and staff are end users of OASIS, which provides a web interface to Banner data. This professional development opportunity will ultimately impact Heidelberg’s end user experience.

Mary and Cindy presented at the conference about the HYPE Co-curricular audit. The duo demonstrated how they were able to create a curriculum in the student management system for HYPE while pushing the information into DegreeWorks, which is the online degree audit for students so that students can track their progress to completion.
