Communication & Media
Today’s fast-paced world is constantly shifting the ways people communicate and use media, creating added demand on individuals, businesses, and cultures to communicate effectively and in powerful ways.
Communication & Media

Communication and media courses prepare you to be a purposeful and effective communicator in your personal and professional life.

The Princeton Review ranks Communication No. 2 on its list of “Top 10 College Majors,” based on factors including job prospects and salaries.

In addition, The National Association of Colleges and Employers reports that written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work in a team, technical skills, and interpersonal skills (the ability to relate well to others) all rank in the top 12 attributes that employers are looking for on college students’ resumes – all skills you will develop in communication and media courses.

The Communication and Media Department offers Majors in Communication and Media and Minors in Communication, Media, and Gender and Identity Studies.

Majors focus on communication competency and media literacy, helping students to develop critical thinking, research, writing, speaking, and technical skills so they're prepared to succeed in a variety of professional fields.
