Longest-serving employee, 27 others honored for 'Berg service

Kathy Borton began her Heidelberg career in a typing pool back in 1974-75. Since then, she’s risen the ranks to earn her bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2013 and receive several promotions in the Enrollment Management division, most recently to associate director of Admission. All of her colleagues admire her “another day in paradise” motto.

Now, the longest-serving employee at Heidelberg with 45 years of service, Kathy was among 27 employees who were honored for milestone years of service at the annual Employee Recognition Luncheon on Tuesday. The honorees represent 555 years of service to Heidelberg.

Additionally, the winners of the Jeannine Curns Distinguished Service Awards were announced. This year’s recipients are Lauren Austin Smith, support staff, and Angie Giles, administrative staff. Congratulations to Kathy, Lauren, Angie and all of the milestone honorees:
