Keeping watchful eye on Coronavirus

While there are no cases of the Novel Coronavirus under investigation in Ohio at the present time and the risk to the general public is low, Heidelberg is being proactive in monitoring and communicating information about the virus so that the campus community can stay current and vigilant in its knowledge about this public health issue.

The Stoner Health & Counseling Center has shared information with students, faculty and staff from the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) about the virus, how it is spread, signs and symptoms, how to stay protected and how/when to access services in case of illness. Student health service professionals have an emergency preparedness plan in place and are ready to take appropriate actions if the need arises.

As part of the plan, the staff strongly recommends that anyone who may be experiencing symptoms CALL AHEAD to the health center, doctor's office or emergency room BEFORE YOU GO to tell them about your recent travel and your symptoms.

Janelle Baldosser, CNP, and her staff in the health center continue to monitor the situation and stay in close touch with the Seneca County Health Department and the ODH. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to direct them to Janelle at jbaldoss@heidelberg or call x2042.
