Student Awards Celebration & Commencement Student Speakers

Attention Graduating Seniors: Are you interested in being the speaker at either Commencement or the Student Awards Celebration?

Applications and outlines will be reviewed, a selection committee will hear speeches on Tuesday, April 7, between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. to determine the speaker for Commencement. The speaker for the Student Awards Ceremony will be selected by the committee from the remaining candidates.

All applicants will be notified of their April 7 speaking time by email.

When you arrive for your speaking time, you must submit a typed hard copy (full script) of your completed speech.

You may apply to give either speech or both, but you can only be selected to present one.

To apply, use this link and upload an outline (not a complete script at this point) of your remarks by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2020.

As you prepare your speech, remember that your audience is not just fellow graduating students. Your audience includes family members, faculty, staff, administrators, members of the Board of Trustees, honored guests and alumni.

If you have questions, contact Dr. Julie O'Reilly at joreilly@heidelberg.edu OR Monica Verhoff at mverhoff@heidelberg.edu
