PURSUITS: Week of Sept. 7, 2020

Dr. Doug Kane, new Assistant Professor of Biology, recently had research published in Limnology and Oceanography, the pre-eminent journal in aquatic sciences. His piece, Physical Drivers Facilitating a Toxigenic Cyanobacterial Bloom in a Major Great Lakes Tributary, details a study of toxic bluegreen algal blooms in the Maumee River, specifically one in downtown Toledo during 2017. This research was conducted with scientists from BGSU, UT, Ohio EPA, SUNY-ESF, University of Windsor and NOAA.
