#ShowYourLove Day of Giving surpasses $50K goal

Success! With strong support from alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends of Heidelberg from across the country, the annual #ShowYourLove Day of Giving on Feb. 17 exceeded its goal of $50,000 in gifts for The Heidelberg Fund and in support of current students.

In all, more than 200 people participated in the Day of Giving, raising more than $54,000. Gifts originated from more than half of the states as well as the country of Israel. “I am so proud of our community and the generosity that was shown on this special day,” said Kelly Lavelle, director of The Heidelberg Fund.

Throughout the 24 hours of the #ShowYourLove campaign, two challenges were in play to help motivate donors to increase the impact of their gifts: the $300,000 Trustee Challenge and a separate $12,500 challenge established by two alumni trustees.

New this year, The Heidelberg Fund student phonathon team celebrated the day by providing activities in The University Commons to teach our future alumni about philanthropy and The Heidelberg Fund.  More than 60 students enjoyed sipping free hot chocolate, answering questions and winning prizes.

If you missed Day of Giving, there’s still time to make your gift to The Heidelberg Fund. You can make your online gift here. Other options are payroll deduction or pay by check.
