MAC prof testifies in Ohio Senate on behalf of OCA

On March 16, 2022, MAC associate professor Dr. DoHee Kim-Appel testified before the Ohio House Behavioral Health and Recovery Supports Committee on behalf of Ohio Counseling Association (OCA) during the second round of testimony in support of the Ohio Senate Bill (SB) 204. SB 204 seeks to enter the State of Ohio into the interstate Counseling Compact. DoHee is serving as president of OCA this year.

The Counseling Compact will allow Ohio counselors to practice in a more streamlined fashion across state lines. By applying for and receiving “compact privileges” through the Compact Commission, counselors will be able to practice in other compact states without going through the whole licensure application process in each remote state.
