'Berg welcomes new VP Hoa Nguyen

Hoa Nguyen

A warm welcome to Hoa Nguyen, who joined the Heidelberg family this week as the new vice president for Administration and Business Affairs. Hoa was on campus to participate in the Board of Trustees meetings last month and has spent this week with John Wilkin, getting acclimated prior to John's departure today.

Hoa brings more than 15 years of financial leadership in higher education to Heidelberg. He has strong expertise in dealing with the challenges facing many institutions of higher education, who must adapt to new fiscal realities to stay competitive and demonstrate financial sustainability. In announcing Hoa's appointment, President Rob Huntington said, "I believe Hoa's strong focus on data analysis, planning, execution and collaboration will be great assets at Heidelberg."

Most recently, Hoa served as the vice president for finance and administration at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania.  He also has held senior leadership positions at St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana; Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Lansing Community College in Lansing, Michigan.  Additionally, he has adjunct teaching experience and served the state of Michigan as a financial specialist.

Hoa and his family, including wife Xuyen and daughter Meisha, are looking forward to relocating to the Tiffin area very soon.
