The Buckeye Flame Paid Summer Internship

The Buckeye Flame, Ohio’s only statewide LGBTQ+ newsroom, is seeking currently-enrolled college students to join our internship program for the Summer of 2023.

This is a 10-week, paid opportunity that includes a mix of virtual and in-person work based in Ohio.

We are seeking candidates who wish to gain local newsroom experience or engage in other roles that support the creation and distribution of high-quality local journalism, including: news writing/article creation, social media strategies and community outreach via Pride celebrations.

Interns will work the week of May 22 through the week of July 24.

This will be a 10-hour/week commitment paid at a rate of $17/hour.

Internship experiences will be tailored to the candidate’s interests and experiences.

Participation in a college journalism program is preferred, but not required.

We are seeking two (2) interns for this time period.

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
