MBA team hosts campus Mental Health Awareness seminar
Timing was perfect to kick off Mental Health Awareness Month. Four students in Dr. Lisa Kahle-Piasecki’s Innovation and Leadership MBA class organized a mental health awareness seminar on campus this past Monday, May 1.
According to Jared Evans, one of the students in the class, his team was tasked with coming up with an innovative solution for one of the United Nation’s 17 sustainable goals within a chosen target market. For their final project, their group chose to create a solution for the goal of Good Health and Well Being, specifically mental health. Jared’s teammates for the project were Isaiah Flood, Jordan Ball and Jacob Horsch.
With the seminar, they aimed to bring awareness of mental health issues to Heidelberg students. They enlisted the help of four faculty and staff members – Tyson Depinet (Athletic Training), John Sharp (Stoner Health & Counseling Center), Dr. Traci Stark (Psychology) and Paul Stark (Religious Life & Civic Engagement) – who shared their expertise and experience in a seminar-style event, open to all ‘Berg students and held in The Commons.
