Campus renovation projects going well

Major progress is being made on the renovation and repair of T-Bridge on Rebecca Street since crews began their work in late May, when this photo was taken. If all goes as planned, the project will be finished by the time students arrive in August.

The Seiberling Gym, Hoernemann Refectory and Rebecca Street bridge renovation projects are on schedule and going well, according to Rod Morrison, associate vice president for facilities and engineering.

Installation of the new floor and bleachers in the gym is complete and painting will wrap up by Aug. 1. North-south window coverings are in place, with east-west window coverings, vinyl curtains to protect the bleachers and HVAC ordered.

In Hoernemann, the majority of construction is complete. Today, crews began to lay flooring in the lower and main dining areas. Painting is coming along. After the Show Choir campers depart in mid-July, millwork will resume.

Work on the bridge is still on track to be finished by the time students arrive in August, with total completion around October.

A number of smaller projects around campus are ongoing this summer, including:

• Miller Hall interior painting of common spaces and delivery of new beds and mattresses

• Brenneman Hall painting and final phase of exterior brickwork (beginning July 10).
