Dr. Julie O’Reilly (Communication & Gender Studies) has a chapter in the textbook, Communication Theory and Gen Z Popular Culture, edited by Kathleen Glenister Roberts and Jonathan Nichols-Pethick and published by Peter Lang (2025). Julie’s chapter is titled Double Vision: Netflix’s Maid and Feminist Standpoint Theory; it appears in the Culture, Power, Identity section of the textbook.
Dr. Desirae Matherly (English) was one of six invited alumni to speak at the 65th Anniversary of the East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Philosophy and Religious Studies Program in Johnson City, Tennessee, on November 15.
The James Joyce Society of New York is hosting the first official launch event for Dr. Barry Devine's book he co-edited with Ellen Scheible, Teaching James Joyce in the Twenty-First Century. The online event on Dec. 12 at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time is free to members of the society and anyone Barry (English) puts on the guest list. Here is the Info Link. A textbook co-authored by Dr. Lisa Kahle-Piasecki (Business Administration) with Dante Benito Castro Solano and Matt Bereza, which includes a chapter by Mildred Daniela Berrelleza Rendón, will be featured at the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL) — one of the most important literary and academic events in the world. "It’s an incredible honor for our team to see this work highlighted on such a global stage," Lisa said. This project reflects our shared commitment to strengthening cultural understanding, advancing meaningful dialogue, and supporting educators and students who engage with U.S.–Mexico relations.
