Your FYP just got a lot more 'Berg: Follow new student influencers on TikTok

Yes, you read that right. Heidelberg is officially on TikTok! From “day in the life” videos to theatre, sports, campus events, Tiffin events, and everything in between, your For You Page just got a lot more Berg.

The idea came from the Branding, Marketing & Communications Department’s Digital Designer, David Stosio, and the Marketing Team.

“Heidelberg doesn’t currently have an official presence on TikTok. We’ve been thinking about it for quite a while,” David said. “There’s a good student presence on those accounts, and we know we have a ton of creativity on campus. It’s time to share student-created content that really shows life at Heidelberg from a student perspective.”

Say hello to Marketing’s newest venture: the Student Brand Ambassador program! Beginning today, six dynamic Student Brand Ambassadors are taking over the spotlight — creating and sharing short-form videos on TikTok and other social media platforms to showcase life at Heidelberg in fresh, authentic ways.
These students – Ian Bain, Gracie Chester, Priya Clark, Jer Marshall, and Seth Ray – will be the creative force, bringing Heidelberg’s Opportunity Makers brand to life through their own experiences.

All summer, the Marketing team was busy laying the groundwork for the launch of the Brand Ambassadors program this fall. These standout students didn’t just step into the role—they were nominated by faculty and staff, interviewed in person, and even showcased their personality in a short video introduction.
Now, they’re ready to channel their energy, creativity, and passion for Heidelberg into sharing the true Heidelberg student experience..

Meet the very first Student Brand Ambassadors

Ian Bain, a Marketing and Sport Management double major with a Communication minor from Martinsville, Indiana. He’s involved in campus life and has a passion for MMA.

“I’d like to show everyone the beauty of Heidelberg’s campus and convey the small-college lifestyle and close-knit community,” Bain said. “I plan to do time skips of walking around campus during different seasons, and even highlight team practices with interview-style videos.”

“I’m most excited to represent Heidelberg’s community and share authentic student experiences that can inspire prospective students,” said Chester. “Heidelberg isn’t just a place to earn a degree – it’s a community where people genuinely care about your growth and success.”

Jerahmy “Jer” Marshall, a junior Music Performance major with a vocal emphasis from Kissimmee, Florida. He’s active in GLC, Sigma Tau Nu, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Studio 2 Stage, where he serves as one of the Production Managers.

“Heidelberg is truly a place where if you don’t feel like you have a place, you can make a place,” Jer said. “We’re planning to do a campus tour and even a town tour so people can see what Heidelberg and Tiffin have to offer.”

Seth Ray, a Marketing major from Warren, Michigan. He plays football and is active in Enactus, the Dean’s Advisory Board, and the Downtown Development Committee.

“I’m most excited about showing potential students what Heidelberg truly has to offer and the opportunities that come with being part of the Heidelberg family,” Seth said. “Through my videos, I want to showcase the atmosphere of campus and all that Heidelberg provides.”

Blanketing the campus and the town

From freshmen to seniors, athletics to academics, these ambassadors cover it all.

“When we were selecting the brand ambassadors, it was important to us to make sure we got a broad representation of campus: majors, athletics, music, theater, different organizations, and class years,” David said. “We wanted students who could each bring their own perspective.”

So, what’s next? Show your Berg pride, hit that follow button on TikTok, and get ready for a steady stream of campus life, laughs, and Heidelberg moments you won’t want to miss!
