'Berg lands trio on D3baseball.com All-Decade Team

The highly touted Heidelberg University baseball program received additional accolades on Wednesday when D3baseball.com unveiled its Team of the Decade for the 2010s.  Three former Student Princes were included -- Ricardo Lizcano, Andy Lowe, and Jason Lash.  Lizcano and Lowe were on the first team, while Lash was an honorable mention.  The full release can be found on D3baseball.com's website.

Lizcano -- who saw action at several positions -- played from 2009-2012 and hit a program-record 34 home runs.  He also holds records for total bases (435), slugging percentage (.683), and walks (111).  The Toledo native was a two-time All-American and was the 2010 OAC Player of the Year.

Lowe, a side-winding closer from Fort Wayne, earned his spot by amassing a then-NCAA record 44 saves from 2008-2011.  The always-dependable Lowe was a three-time All-American and was OAC Pitcher of the Year in 2009 and 2010.  He holds the program record for appearances (111), opponent batting average (.214) and ERA (2.14).

The shortstop Lash picked up two All-American honors and was the 2011 American Baseball Coaches Association national Golden Glove winner in 2011.  Lash, from Strongsville, holds the program record for doubles (67) and is second in at bats, runs, hits, RBI, and total bases.

Heidelberg was one of just eight schools from across the nation with at least three honorees and one of four with two first team selections.

The Student Princes book-ended the 2010s with World Series appearances in 2010 and 2019.  The program advanced to the NCAA Regional Tournament five times and won three OAC regular season titles.

All three also landed on Heidelberg's All-Decade Team, which was released in December 2019.
