The Stoner Health & Counseling Center's vision is to provide cutting edge health and wellness approaches to an ever changing Heidelberg University campus.

The Dr. L.D. Stoner Health & Counseling Center is located in Room 141 in the lower level of the Campus Center Building. The Health & Counseling Center provides accessible, caring confidential, high-quality health services to its student population. The Center strives to improve the well-being of the campus community and its environment by contributing to the optimal development of the individual.

Its focus guides students to a realization of their potential by maintaining or restoring physical and emotional health and well-being through medical, education and counseling services. The staff empowers students to become knowledgeable health care consumers and assists them in making positive lifestyle choices while striving to protect the students’ personal rights and interests.

Hours of Operation

The Health Center is open Monday through Friday during fall and spring semesters when classes are in session. Facilities are closed Saturday and Sunday and during summer session. Normal hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Please call 419-448-2041 to schedule an appointment or for questions.

To reduce the spread of infection, you must call the Student Health Center prior to arriving. We are unable to allow walk-in patients in the Student Health Center at the present time.

Emergency Room Services

If emergency services are needed, the nearest emergency facility is located at Mercy Health Hospital of Tiffin (US 224, St. Lawrence Drive - Tiffin-Fostoria Rd.) in Tiffin, approximately two miles from the Heidelberg campus or call 911. Emergency services are available at Mercy Hospital 24/7. Mercy Health also provides a Walk-In Care clinic Mon.-Fri.: 10 am -6 p.m at 2495 W. Market St for non-urgent illnesses and injuries. There is also a Walk-In Urgent Care at 2562 W. Market St Mon- Fri 8 am-8 pm and Sat/Sun 10 am-6 pm for after hours care.

Pharmaceutical Services

In stock over-the-counter drugs are charged to the student’s account. Insurance or drug cards are not used at the Health Center. Non-formulary prescriptions may be filled at a local pharmacy.

A new electronic medical records portal was launched in July 2016 to better serve you.
