Any full-time undergraduate or graduate student may use the Health Center regardless of the individual’s health insurance plan. A student does not have to be enrolled in the student health insurance offered by Heidelberg University in order to use the health center. There are no physician or office visit charges sent to any insurance company. Supplies such as medications may be charged (for a nominal fee) to your student account.
Health Center hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM -4:00 PM and Counseling Center hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM-4:00 PM when classes are in session, facilities are closed Saturday and Sunday and during summer session.
Stoner Health & Counseling Center offers services typically available at most family doctor’s offices and most counseling agencies. Physician and nursing services consist of illness and injury care, first aid, lab services such as strep screens and urinalysis, and vaccination administration. The Health Center is licensed by the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy. Counseling services include diagnostic assessments, individual sessions, couples counseling, group counseling, and consultation services.
The Director of the Health Center is a certified nurse practitioner. Students will be seen and under the care of the certified nurse practitioner and a registered nurse. All clinical visits are free of charge. The counseling staff includes licensed counselors including: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and Licensed Professional Counselor. The counseling center also utilizes Master's level Counselor Trainees.
