Form 1098-T: Tuition Payments Statement is the information that colleges and universities are required to issue for the purpose of determining a student's eligibility for the Hope, Lifetime Learning and American Opportunity education tax credits.

Keep it for your records. Since the University sends your 1098-T information to the IRS, there is no need to attach a copy for the form to your tax return. The information contained in the 1098-T will help you to determine if you may claim the Hope, Lifetime Learning or the American Opportunity education tax credits.

Go to your OASIS account and login with your OASIS Id number and Pin. Then, click on the Student Services Tab, then Student Records, and scroll down to Tax Notification. Enter the tax year 2024 and submit. Print out the entire 1098T as it will give you detailed information of the amounts in each box.

Yes, provided that a form was issued to you. Follow the instructions for getting your 1098-T information above, making sure you insert the tax year of interest in the box.

You did not have any qualified educational expenses within the tax year; therefore, a 1098-T form was not generated for you. The 1098-T form was produced for the tax year beginning Jan. 1, 2024, and ending Dec. 31, 2024.

An eligible taxpayer may claim them. An eligible taxpayer may be the student or, if the student is a dependent for federal income tax purposes, the person (ex. parent) claiming the student as a dependent. A student who is a dependent cannot claim the tax credits or deduction on his or her own tax return. Visit the IRS website for more information on the Hope, Lifetime Learning and American Opportunity education tax credits.

Qualified tuition and related expense are tuition and fees required for enrollment or attendance at an eligible educational institution what were incurred on or after Jan. 1 and on or before Dec. 31 of the tax year. They do not included room and board, student activities, athletics, insurance, equipment, transportation or other similar personal, living or family expenses.
