PALS Dinner: Brandi Powell

Our keynote speaker for the fall Patricia Adams Lecture Series is Brandi Powell. Brandi has been an anchor/reporter with the ABC affiliate KSTP-TV in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota for nearly five years. She began her news broadcasting career in Bismarck, North Dakota, followed by stints in Austin, Texas, and San Diego, California.

Ms. Powell is the recipient of multiple team Emmy awards for her news coverage as well as two North Dakota Associated Press Awards and several individual Emmy nominations. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Twin Cities Black Journalists.

She is a 2004 graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she majored in communication studies and minored in Spanish. She earned a master’s degree in anthropology from George Washington University in international development.
