Alpha Psi Omega presents Birthday Candles, directed by senior theatre major Zaria Keys.

Birthday Candles is a play that follows the life of a woman named Ernestine Ashworth, as she celebrates her birthdays from the age of 17 to 101, essentially chronicling her entire life through the act of baking a single birthday cake, highlighting the ordinary moments and significant life events that make up a seemingly average existence while pondering her place in the universe; the play explores themes of family, love, loss, and the passage of time through a series of seemingly mundane yet profound moments, often marked by the ritual of blowing out birthday candles.
