Arbor Day Recognition of Tree Campus USA Designation

Heidelberg University was recently recognized as a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation. Representatives Kelly Peterson, junior in Environmental Science, and Dr. Ken Baker, Heidelberg Professor Emeritus of Biology, recently received this honor for the University. To mark this achievement and Arbor Day, we will host a raising of the Arbor Day Tree Campus USA flag, and present a white oak sapling that the University was awarded. Dr. Baker will speak briefly about the designation of the campus as a Tree Campus, and Assistant Professor of Biology Dr. Noel Mano will describe the white oak tree. Students and attendees are invited to touch the new tree for luck going into finals, or just stop by for ice cream sandwiches!
