Army ROTC Partnership

Heidelberg University has partnered with Bowling Green State University to allow Heidelberg students to participate in Army ROTC. Army ROTC offers the chance to enrich college experiences and achieve full potential—while at Heidelberg and after graduation. There are several reasons Heidelberg students choose ROTC as an academic option. Some students are eager to develop special leadership qualities. Others find the scholarships and financial incentives particularly attractive or seek opportunities for challenge, competition, travel and adventure. And still others choose ROTC because it provides a comfortable network of friends who learn how to work and have fun together.

ROTC Obligation

As a Heidelberg student, you will be expected to complete physical training on your own and schedule to take the Army Physical Fitness Test at BGSU once a semester. You will also be required to drive to BGSU’s campus on Thursdays to attend class and leadership lab which occurs between 1:30-6:00pm.

Financial Assistance

Army ROTC offers a wide range of financial assistance. Students compete each year for scholarships which pay all tuition, most fees and an annual $1,200 book fee. Scholarship winners and contracted cadets will receive a tax free monthly stipend of $420.
