Ash Wednesday Service

Everyone is invited to a brief Ash Wednesday service with the Imposition of Ashes. This ecumenical service is open to all and will include prayers, reading of scripture, and the imposition of ashes. At the conclusion of the service at 12:20 pm, the Heidelberg University bell will be rung seven times to remember the seven days that Ukraine has been under invasion as we pray for peace. Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent. Lent is the season of repentance for Christians as they prepare for Holy Week and the celebration of Easter.
