Heidelberg University Concert Choir and Chamber Singers Home Concert

You are cordially invited to join the Heidelberg University Concert Choir and Chamber Singers for our final concert of the spring semester.

2025 was a momentous year in the life of Heidelberg University -- the year we celebrated our beloved alma mater’s 175th birthday! In observance of this significant milestone, the choir will undertake a joint tour to Germany with the Heidelberg University Symphonic Band.

This year's concert theme is "Sing, Heidelberg!", and the Concert Choir's and Chamber Singers' ensemble repertoire reflects and celebrates America's and Germany's cultural heritages. Whether directly or indirectly, almost every selection will refer in some way to singing, making music, or, in a few stark instances, silence.

Over the course of our program, we sincerely hope that our audiences will be moved by the symbiotic relationship between poetry and music, and that the cumulative associations of each piece will evoke ever-developing images regarding the essence of life itself.

Chamber Singers repertoire for the evening will be drawn from the following selections:

Pilgrims' Hymn by Stephen Paulus

Psallite by Michael Praetorius
