MLK Jr. Day ON!

The Heidelberg University Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEIC) is excited to announce our 202 MLK Jr. Day ON!

We hope to arrange the events to allow everyone an opportunity to participate, learn, and reflect on ways that are meaningful to each of us. There will be more details to come; however, we are asking you to pre-register for the event no later than December 14. By pre-registering, you will receive the official MLK Jr. Day ON! t-shirt with the 2023 design. Register here.

Community Service Projects -- This year we are asking each office and department to plan their own service project for the morning either on or off campus.

Students will have a separate project with Rise Against Hunger preparing meals. The student service project has limited space and students will sign up on a first-come, first-serve basis.

For those who have children who have the day off of school, you are welcome to bring them to campus to participate in the service projects. While faculty and staff are in the afternoon workshop, children in kindergarten through fifth grade are encouraged to join the HU Chapter of Teachers of Mathematics in the Education Department for fun and informative games.

We are excited about this celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and hope you will plan to join us as we seek to learn and grow both individually and as a campus community!
