Section 504 Sit-In Memoriam

The Section 504 Sit-ins were the 28 days in which disabled people around the U.S. fought for the signing of this passage into the Rehabilitation Act of 1977. President Nixon vetoed this out of office many times, but Brad Lomax and Judith Heumann said no. They gathered people together, and sat in official offices for the longest peaceful protest in a legislative building. Because of this, the Disability Advocacy Division invites you to come to the front of Campus Center, and listen to our notes and speeches about this very occasion. These people deserve a spotlight on the credences of what they have done for the sake of future disabled peoples. Let us not have them be forgotten! Don't forget; we have rights. So let us remember them!
