Operation Street Smart
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office created Operation Street Smart (OSS) in July 2002 as a way to take community-oriented policing (COP) to a new level. This is the third time we have been able to bring OSS to Heidelberg's campus. The goal of OSS is to provide current and up-to-date narcotics information on trends, terminology, paraphernalia, and physiological effects of drug use and drug abuse. This is great training for people working with (or are interested in working with) populations struggling with addiction, people working in the school system, or other people working with populations that have been impacted by the opioid epidemic. This is also great training for parents to learn what to look for if there are concerns about their children abusing drugs.
The training will take place on Zoom. The zoom link will be sent a few days before the training, to everyone who has registered by the deadline of Oct. 15, 2021. Register here.
