Theatre Production: 'Top Girls'
Caryl Churchill’s 1983 award winning play Top Girls is a dramatically satirical take on modern womanhood. Set in the late 1970s, Top Girls boldly and aggressively asks the question “what if business women behaved like business men?” and challenges the true sacrifices women make for career success. Churchill faced a lot of backlash and hate for her characters’ lack of femininity, and graphic, vulgar language but she stood by her story and it is still emulated and admired to this day.
Top Girls contains explicit language, talk of violence, and sexual themes.
